"Kids" is the kind of movie that needs to be talked about afterward. It doesn't tell us what it means. Sure, it has a "message," involving safe sex. But safe sex is not going to civilize these kids, make them into curious, capable citizens. What you realize, thinking about Telly, is that life has given him nothing that interests him, except for sex, drugs and skateboards. His life is a kind of hell, briefly interrupted by orgasms.

Most kids are not like those in "Kids," and never will be, I hope. But some are, and they represent a failure of home, school, church and society. They could have been raised in a zoo, educated only to the base instincts. You watch this movie, and you realize why everybody needs whatever mixture of art, education, religion, philosophy, politics and poetry that works for them: Because without something to open our windows to the higher possibilities of life, we might all be Tellys, and more amputated than the half-man on his skateboard.

Evo ne znam bogumi. Ja obožavam Ghiblijeve filmove, i vidim da su ostali fanovi (i publika in general) u fazonu 'omgomgomg divno predivno instant-klasik heartbreaking tearjerking emotivno simbolično najbolji Ghibli film ikada ikada blabla'... A meni je film bio, onako... dosadan... nepovezan... isprazan... predugačak... meh. Lep je ali... ne znam, nisam uspeo da se uživim u taj svet, likove, priču. Doduše, možda sam imao prevelika očekivanja, plus - gledao sam film iz dva dela.

Siftam ti ja kanale i vidim knjaz milos kiselu pored monitora a likovi pricaju engleski. Srbi su naravno bili negativci. Film je ocajan, glavna uloga Taylor Launter, gledao samo da bih video koliko ce da nas ocrne.


PS njegovog caleta Martina na kraju nisu ni prikazali, samo njegova usta dok je pricao na telefonu. Ali sam ipak prepoznao glumca, koji i nije toliko poznat, niti mi je poznato odakle ga znam. Al eto, usne mu pamtim

jojjjj kako ga oceniti....

Ja ga upravo odgledao, za 10 minuta, samo da vidim šta je od svog snimanja po gradu ostalo u finalnoj verziji filma.

Stvarno da žališ svakog ko je morao ono sve redom i bez preskakanja da gleda i sluša.
