Jedan od najneizvesnijih i najkvalitetnijih meceva godine!

Odusevljen sam preokretima, posebno onim u 11. gemu 3. seta: 5.5 i 40.0 za JJ kad je usledila serija od 5 Aninih neodbranjivih forhenda.

Ana je bila agresivnijia i to je dovelo do uspeha.

Zao mi je sto je jedna morala da ispadne.

Ana ce biti #4next week, i ako ostane na toj poziciji do US-a bice medju prve 4 nositeljke -> Ana i JJ ce sigurno biti u razlicitim polovinama zreba -> moguci duel bice moguc tek u finalu ...

Ana Ivanovic was twice forced to recover from a deficit in order to beat compatriot Jelena Jankovic 4-6 6-4 7-5 in a topsy turvy match in the first of the LA semi finals.


The younger of the two players dropped the first set and found herself 1-4 down in the final set before rallying to secure her place in the final and a top four ranking when the new world rankings are announced on Monday.

Ivanovic was broken in the very first game and, although she broke back immediately, struggled to get into the match dropping serve again in the third and fifth games before finding her feet to get one of the breaks back.

Still the momentum was firmly with Jankovic, despite the older Serb needing three chances before managing to close out the set with a crosscourt forehand, and Ivanovic looked to be on the verge of suffering a straight sets defeat.

But the French Open finalist managed to put the dodgy start behind her and began to find her consistency at the beginning of the second set getting a crucial break in the sixth game after being forced to save a number a break points just three games earlier.

The nerves again returned to the Ivanovic game as she stepped up so serve out the set but, after saving another couple of break points, the 19-year-old fired a forehand straight down the line to level up the match.

Jankovic, who has already played in 20 tournaments this year, winning four of them, managed to wrestle the momentum back from Ivanovic at the beginning of the third set, however, and quickly raced out to a 4-1 lead.

With Jankovic holding break point, and virtual match point, in the sixth game Ivanovic somehow managed to turn things around with some scorching forehands from all areas of the court to break back twice and level the set at 4-4.

Despite her late rally Ivanovic found herself facing two match points after a lapse in concentration. But again the 19-year-old produced some of her best play of the season to hold her serve and level up at 5-5.

Ivanovic, picking up confidence with every shot, fought back from 0-40 on the Jankovic serve to set up a break point with a missile of a forehand down the line, and break with another cross court forehand that Jankovic could only applaud.

Just minutes later Ivanovic had two match points of her own and sealed a place in the final when Jankovic slapped her forehand long of the baseline.

Ivanovic will now face either top seed Maria Sharapova or Nadia Petrova in the final with the two Russians due to do battle in the other semi final later in the day."

Znam da su obe imale vise direktnih poena od gresaka, sto je amazing.
Ana je imala, koliko se secam preko 50 direktnih poena, a JJ valjda 33.

Zensko finale je sutra u 23h po nasem (ili po Grinicu, not sure).

Baš.
Oni vrlo normalni nisu ako neko ne bude prenosio.
Mislim, ako Avala može ovako neplanski da uleće u polufinala i finala (i US open prošle godine) pa može valjda i RTS.
Ili ne mogu da uguraju u šemu od 192 sata svadba!

I had some chances and then it was 5-4. She made big serves. She had aces….
I had 40-love on my serve the next game.
I was flat and a little tired and out of gas.

At least today I played so much better than in my previous matches and I am happy about.
If course I am disappointed, but it is okay. I just have to learn form this.

I had one break and from one side it was more difficult. The wind was in my face. When she hit
a hard ball I could not get it to her backhand.

She is quite powerful. She came up with great shots when she needed them.
On days when she is hitting it clean she is very, very good.
I was trying to play a lot to her backhand.

When you are late by half of a step you cannot control the ball.
I am a little bit out of shape with a cold and with vacation….,. I did not use my chances and the
match did not go my way.

A few times I was late on a few shots and my racket was turning.
I was tired even after the second set.
Now the time for me to prepare and to get better and better.
Today was a huge step for me. The first few rounds I was asking myself ‘what are you doing on
the court.

Against Ana there is something that does not suit my game. Some players you like to play and
some players you don’t. I have to stay positive and go forward. Ana is playing quote well at the
moment, She looks fresh.

It was a great week and a great test for my knee. It was good I played the first match today so I
have more time to recover for tomorrow’s final
At the end of the day it does not matter who you play. You have this yellow thing and you have
to play.
