Budva wins the “war” against Belgrade and Zagreb: Pop-queen to Perform at Jaz Beach in September

Podgorica – Despite contradictory information over Madonna’s performance at Budva, recent developments leave no doubt: the queen of pop will perform at Jaz beach this September.

This information had been confirmed to Vijesti by several reliable sources, including the concert’s organizers, who claim that the spectacle would take place either on 23 or 25 September, depending on which date would fit into Madonna’s touring schedule.

This also means that Budva had won the “war” against Belgrade and Zagreb, which have also attempted to qualify as host to the concert.

The concert of the queen of pop stands as another example of a world-class spectacle taking place in Budva, following the last year’s concert of “Rolling Stones” and recent speed-boats’ World Cup.

According to Vijesti’s information, a key-person who has arranged Madonna’s arrival is one of Montenegro’s most influential individuals, Budva’s citizen Svetozar Marovic, who also played the crucial role in setting up two earlier mega-events.

Madonna’s honorary remains a secret at this point, although well-informed circles in Budva claim that the “pop star has received an offer she could not afford to miss.”

Earlier speculations maintained that the organizers had offered $ 5 million. It can now be assumed that the figure must have been even higher. This assumption is supported by the reporting of Croatian media, reading that Zagreb and Belgrade’s offer had been exceeded by Budva’s by whole $ 4 Million. This resulted with queen of pop’s decision to turn Budva’s beach of Jaz into the ground for her only concert in the region. According to Jutarnji list, Zagreb had been prepared to pay $ 10 million.

The spectacle at Jaz would, most probably, be the last in a series of Madonna’s performances in Europe this year, as already on 4 October she has concerts set to take place in the US.

Queen of Pop’s tour, which is entitled “Sticky and Sweet” and promotes her latest album “Hard Candy”, opens at Cardiff on 23 August. It is expected that her performance at Budva would soon be announced at her official touring-schedules, which also includes European metropolis Berlin, Zurich, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Paris and London.

Madonna in Montenegro?

Another day, another tour date rumour - this time about a tour stop in Montenegro. Remember this is just a rumour and nothing is official until confirmed by Madonna's official website:

Madonna’s concert will definitely be held in Budva at Jaz Beach., says Blazo Radoman from the Tourist Agency in Budva, adding that the contract with the popular singer’s management will be signed soon, as well as that Madonna will confirm within the next 30 days that Budva is on the list of countries which she is going to visit on her forthcoming tour. Details related to the exact date of the concert will soon be scheduled (Madonna will perform at Jaz Beach in late August or early September) and the pop-queen, who is coming to Budva with her husband Guy Richie and children, will spend three days in Budva.
'The contract is still not signed, but everything is arranged with Madonna's management. She is definitely coming to Budva and the contract will be signed within next 30 days, when Madonna confirms that Budva is on the list of the cities where she will sing this summer. We are expecting about 100,000 people at Jaz Beach since the forthcoming concert has drawn much attention. People are calling from neighboring countries, the Czech Republic, Russia, even England, where Madonna regularly performs,' Blazo Radoman says for 'Blic'.
Radoman also says that $5 million-remuneration has been a little exaggerated and that organization of the concert will be paid by the agency selected by Budva municipality.
'We are just providing the concert space at Jaz Beach, but other expenses will be covered by the agency organizing the concert. Madonna’s concert will be unprecedented spectacle and it will greatly contribute to the tourist promotion of Budva. In summer, all world media will mention Madonna's concert in Budva and such publicity cannot be measured with money,' Radoman explains.
Although it has been said that tickets for Madonna's concert will be cheaper than last year's tickets for 'The Rolling Stones' concert at Jaz Beach (the cheapest tickets were 35 Euros), Blazo Radoman says that the ticket price will be determined by the agency organizing the concert, in accordance with their business plans and arrangement with the managerial team of the popular singer.

Američka pop-zvezda Madona održaće 23. septembra svoj prvi koncert u Austriji, a dva dana kasnije i u Crnoj Gori za ukupnu sumu od 15 miliona dolara (9,7 miliona evra). Organizatori koncerata uspeli su da se s Madoninim menadžmentom dogovore da kraljica popa nastupi u Budvi i Beču za svotu koja je najveća ikada isplaćena jednom umetniku za nastup u austrijskom glavnom gradu, ali i jednom od gradova na prostorima bivše Jugoslavije. Prema nezvaničnim informacijama, austrijski koncert, koji će biti održan pod vedrim nebom pored Dunava, koštaće oko šest miliona evra, dok su Crnogorci morali da se „isprse" za oko tri i po miliona evra.

Organizator Rihard Herman uveren je da će ovaj koncert biti rasprodat za svega nekoliko dana, kao i u svim drugim gradovima u kojima je Madona gostovala ranije. Očekuje se da će na Madonin nastup u Beč doći oko 50.000 fanova, koji će za ulaznicu morati da plate 99 evra. Što se tiče koncerta u Budvi, koji organizuje producentska kuća „Komuna", u sledećih nekoliko dana on će biti i službeno potvrđen, a već su uplaćene i prve bankovne garancije. Prodaja ulaznica za koncert na plaži Jaz očekuje se za desetak dana.

NOVA PISTA ZA MADONU

Crnogorski zvaničnici razmatraju mogućnost da zbog dolaska svetske pop dive izvrše i adaptaciju piste na tivatskom aerodromu. Kako saznaje Press, jedan od najvećih tehničkih problema pre potpisivanja ugovora s Madoninim menadžmentom bila je nemogućnost aviona „boing 747-400", koji donosi opremu, da poleti s nekog od crnogorskih aerodroma.

- Sva tehnička oprema za koncert biće dopremljena avionom, dok će pozornica stići kamionima - kaže izvor Pressa blizak organizatorima nastupa, i dodaje: - Kompletna oprema za Madonin koncert u čitavom svetu doprema se avionom „boing 747-400", a u Crnoj Gori ne postoji aerodrom s pistom s koje taj gigant može da uzleti.

- Pri sletanju tog aviona u Tivat ili Podgoricu ne bi bilo problema, ali za uzletanje potrebna je veća i šira pista. Zato su crnogorski zvaničnici razmatrali mogućnost da avio-pistu u Tivtu produže i prošire, ili da, u suprotnom, organizuju da oprema odvojeno stigne u dva manja aviona. Uključivanje Budve u Madoninu svetsku turneju biće veliki uspeh koji će Crnoj Gori obezbediti ogromnu reklamu u svetu, tako da će se svi troškovi, pa i oni oko renoviranja aerodroma, isplatiti.

According to Expressen, one of Sweden's biggest newspapers, Robyn is set to tour with Madonna during the European leg of Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour. Madonna has personally chosen Robyn to warm up the audience before she hits the stage.

This is interesting because a few weeks ago Robyn was asked by a journalist if she would like to do a collaboration with Madonna. Robyn answered: "I work with muscians not celebrities."
