Belgrade Theater Festival

The 37th annual Belgrade Theater Festival, BITEF, will be held from 15-25th September 2003 this year. This well renowned festival, known for its cutting-edge theater trends, will exhibit artists from France, Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Serbia and Montenegro.

The opening performance scheduled for Monday, 15 September at 'Sava Centar', is a French dance spectacle. It combines classical with modern ballet as well as other dance choreographies, thus blurring the line between genres. The main program, crafted by Jovan Cirilov, will have fewer plays this year, nevertheless, it will be supported by a variety of dynamic workshops and symposiums geared towards theater students, educators and professionals from the region.

BITEF is the first of many art festivals and events to come, declaring the new art season in Belgrade open.
