Research study about the reception and perception of same-sex families in different institutional contexts

transnorm · belgium · odabrao: m · 03. May 2017

Are you originally from Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia or Hungary?
Do you currently live in a same-sex marriage in Belgium or are you raising children with a same-sex partner in Belgium?

If so, you are invited to join a research study about the reception and perception of same-sex families in different institutional contexts. The study examines how family norms and models change, especially through cross-border exposure to different family forms. This will serve to gain insight into mechanisms of social change that might increase tolerance and acceptance of the LGBT individuals and same-sex families.

The study, titled "Transformations of Family Norms in a Transnational World" (TransNorm), is conducted by Tanja Vuckovic Juros. It is funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship and conducted at Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium.

Your experiences are critically important for the implementation of this study. If you are interested to participate, we will have an interview typically lasting between one and two hours in which we will talk about the story of your life.

All interviews are confidential. Your name or identifying information will not be used in any way. All interviews will be processed under codes and stored securely.

You are invited to contact the researcher, Tanja Vuckovic Juros (tanja.vuckovic@uclouvain.be) for further information or for participation in the study. More information can also be found on the project's webpage https://sites.google.com/site/vuckovicjuros/transnorm and Facebook page fb.me/TransNorm .

If you know somebody who fits the criteria and might be interested to participate, please let them know about this research!
