Merlinka - International Festival of LGBT Films

The 6th International Festival of LGBT Films - Merlinka will be held at Dom omladine from December 9 to 16.

Festival will start with a film retrospect by Canadian director Xavier Dolan (December 9 and 10), who has recorded a special video message for the festival visitors. The official festival opening is set for Thursday, December 11 at 21:00, when visitors will see film "Gerontophilia" by Bruce La Bruce, awarded with the Grand Prix Focus Montreal.

All together, Merlinka Festival will present 60 films including "Yves Saint Laurent", a Sundance Festival winner and Crystal Bear at Berlinale, "52 Tuesdays", award for the best documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival, "Regarding Susan Sontag", Teddy award winner at Berlinale, "The Circle", a Sundance Festival Winner, "The Case Against 8" and many others. On Sunday, December 14, Merlinka festival will present Serbian lesbian erotic film "In passing" (U prolazu).

Every year, Merlinka Festival awards the best short film with the "Dorothy Shoe" award. The festival will be closed with a documentary "Audre Lorde - The Berlin Years" on Tuesday, December 16 and on this occasion a director Dagmar Schultz will be a festival guest.
