Montenegro Pride set for October 3 in Podgorica, Pride Week from September 28

The organization Kvir Montenegro has announced that this year’s Montenegro Pride will be held on October 3 in Podgorica, with the Pride Week program running from September 28 to October 3.

The announcement strikes a serious tone. “Everything is on fire, everywhere. Right-wing currents are gaining ever more ground, and some members of our political elite are resisting them less and less, hoping to win a little support for their own interests,” the organizers said, as reported by the public broadcaster RTCG.

“Militarization is growing stronger, and the wars devastating whole regions threaten to engulf the entire world,” Kvir Montenegro added.

Montenegro remains one of the few countries in the region to have legally regulated same-sex partnerships, and this year’s Pride will be another opportunity for the community and its allies to take to the streets of the capital.
